They'll play their first game at the Downtown Events Center at 7 p.m. on Dec. 5, against the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
The complete Development League schedule was released on Thursday. Two expansion teams, the Maine Red Claws and Springfield (Mass.) Armor, have joined the league, bringing the D-League team total to 16.
For the first time since the league was founded in 2001, there is an Eastern Conference and a Western Conference. The Bighorns will play in the West, along with the Albuquerque Thunderbirds, Austin Toros, Bakersfield Jam, Los Angeles D-Fenders, Idaho Stampede, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Tulsa 66ers and Utah Flash.
The East is comprised of the Dakota Wizards, Erie BayHawks, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Iowa Energy, Maine Red Claws, Sioux Falls Skyforce and Springfield Armor.
"We're very excited about the upcoming season," Bighorns president Stuart Katzoff said. "We look forward to again bringing affordable family entertainment to Reno in the form of an electric, up-tempo atmosphere of professional basketball."
The Bighorns, who finished 25-25 in their first-ever season a year ago, announced earlier this week that they would bring coach Jay Humphries back in 2009-2010.
