The NBA star told children gathered Monday at State Farm Insurance's headquarters in Bloomington that he'd buy the shoes if he made a half-court shot.
James drained the shot, leaving State Farm employees to scramble to get shoe sizes for all of the kids.
James signed a deal with State Farm last year to be help promote the company.
He was in Bloomington on Monday to promote his new movie "More than a Game." The film documents James' high school playing days in Akron, Ohio. It's scheduled to be released Oct. 2.
