Lakers reach verbal agreement on multi-year deal with Odom

El Segundo, CA (Sports Network) - The Lakers and forward Lamar Odom have reached a verbal agreement on a multi-year contract, both sides confirmed Thursday.
Both team spokesman John Black and the player's agent confirmed the agreement, while Black added that the two sides are hoping to have a signed deal within the next few days. The Los Angeles Times is reporting the pact is for four years and $33 million.
Odom was a key cog in the Lakers' latest run to the NBA championship, averaging 12.3 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 blocks in 23 playoff games. Odom also shot a team-high 51.4 percent from three-point range as LA defeated Orlando in five games for the franchise's 15th NBA title.
The Rhode Island product wrapped up his 10th year in the league in style last season and also played an important role during the regular season after fellow big-man Andrew Bynum fell victim to injury. Odom posted averages of 11.3 points, 8.2 boards, 2.6 assists and 1.3 blocks in 29.7 minutes. He started 32 of the 78 games in which he appeared.
Over his 10 years in the league which includes stops in Miami and with the Clippers, Odom has averages of 15.1 points, 8.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.0 blocks in 665 games, 605 of those starts.
