Lakers spokesman John Black confirmed an agreement Thursday, but wouldn't discuss specifics.
ESPN.com reported the deal is worth up to $33 million US over four years, with three years and $27 million guaranteed. That would match the three-year offer that the Lakers pulled off the table earlier this month as Odom contemplated a move back to Miami.
Odom, 29, played well in his new role as a reserve last season, averaging 11.3 and 8.2 rebounds per game. In the playoffs, he increased his production to 12.3 points and 9.1 rebounds a game to help the Lakers capture their 15th NBA title.
Odom said he preferred to remain with the Lakers, but the Heat courted him aggressively and reportedly offered a contract worth up to $34 million over five years.
Odom spent the 2003-04 season with Miami before being traded to L.A. as part of a package for Shaquille O'Neal.
With Odom back in the fold, the Lakers can defend their championship with nearly the same roster. The only significant difference is the absence of forward Trevor Ariza, who signed with Houston and was replaced by the Rockets' Ron Artest.
